Roasted Chickpeas

Roasted chickpeas. Need I say more?


The only thing I can say about these is make sure you don't over roast them. Only sayin cos I did and they tasted a bit burnt =P (as you can see by the colour of them ahha). But follow the recipe right and you should be sweet, it's reaaaally really easy. They make for a great snack, they're much healthier than all those processed snack foods, and you can mix it up with the spices you use. I got the recipe off that blog I've been following - probs one of my new fav blogs! I swear I'm on it all the time, she has the best recipes! The only thing I changed with this recipe is that I doubled the amount of seasoning I used just because I wanted them really flavoursome - This change is reflected in the recipe posted below.


Roasted Chickpeas
Recipe adapted from How Sweet It Is

Ingredients
2 cups cooked chickpeas (if canned, drain and rinse)
1-2 tsp olive oil, or olive oil spray/mist
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
 
Method
1. Preheat oven to 220C (425F).
 
2. Place chickpeas on a paper towel and pay completely dry. Remove any loose skins.
 
3. Place on a baking sheet and mist with olive oil or oil of choice. Roll around to coat. Sprinkle with seasonings of your choice and toss well to coat. Make sure chickpeas are in a single layer.
 
4. Bake for 15 minutes, toss well and flip, then bake for about 15 minute. Let cool and eat!
