Gradient Nails

I saw this manicure a looooong time ago on another blog, I can't remember which one, but it was the only reason why I bought the 4 polishes used to re-create it =P. It was a really pretty summery sorbet gradient using polishes from the OPI Texas Collection. I tried to do this a while ago but the polishes are sooo runny and translucent I gave up. Now, I've come back with alot more experience and patience, and I manged to re-create it! I think the original looked better but this still looks ok!

I started off with 3 coats of OPI Y'all Come Back Ya Hear, then I painted (not sponged) on OPI Guy Meets Galveston, just further up the nail and thin at first then as I moved up the nail I made the colour more concentrated, so as to get a better flow on with each colour. I repeated this, starting further up the up the nail with OPI Too Hot Pink to Hold 'Em, then finished with OPI Do you Think I'm Texy just concentrated on the tips.

As you can see, my camera has trouble capturing all the reds in the manicure, my phone (with the help of Instagram ahha) made this look much nicer =). I swear it reminds me of a slushie....

Then the next day I decided to mattify it! I used Essie Matte About You. I dunno which I prefer, shiny or matte...

=D xx
