HULLO! Yesterday I went to Bourke St Bakery with one of my good friends, for a nice leisurely breakfast :)
It was such a nice morning. I love getting up early, because it feels like i've made the most of the day. However, getting up at noon and watching reruns of Frasier all afternoon doesnt sound that bad either...
Anyways, these are the little beauties my friend and I picked up:
As you can see I have a massive sweet tooth. And apparantly a love of tarts (the edible kind :P).
I've been to Bourke St bakery before and i've had most of the above, but the honey macademia scroll was a first and OMG it was like eating caramel popcorn! It was sooo nice, I contemplated getting another one. The croissant was sadly cold, I like mine toasted and with a bit of jam mmmmm. I saved the tarts for home and split them between my family. I love the lemon curd tart and brulee tart the most because they're things i havent attempted to make myself at home. And the flourless cake is always a dream to eat - so moist and chocolatey, like velvet.
It was so nice sitting in the park eating our goodies as locals passed by - Surrey Hills seems to have a alot of dog owners - it was a lovely morning. I felt like lying on the grass and letting the sun wash over my face, but the grass was wet and I saw some dogs doing some not so nice things on it so we settled for the bench :P.
I want to go back and get their famous Pork & Fennel Sausage Rolls, and a Chorizo and Thyme Loaf.
Now im hungry again.
Oh and i wore leopard print shoes :).
